The Packaging” is, as its title suggests, not only a poem, but a parcel. Open it, and unwrap a sequence of themes stitched together with such skill that its transitions are seamless — the packaging of cream becomes the packaging of skin, drawers, secrets, stories.

Honouring the moon and its many versions, working in circles and cycles, yet focused on familial lines and lineage, “The Packaging” is a gift that revels in the unraveling of narrative threads. Carefully crafted, this is a poem of creation, pure creativity.

It lives, it loves, it loops, it lashes

– Hannah Green, judge’s citation from the 2025 Riddle Fence Poetry Contest
